This is a Burkert direct operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/4 inch threads and a 24 V AC/DC coil. The valve has a stainless steel housing with PTFE sealing and an orifice size of 2 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied. As it is direct operating, no pressure differential over the valve is needed to open the valve. Suitable for a pressure of 0 – 30 bar (435 psi) and a maximum temperature of 140 °C (284 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 0.14 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 2 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 0, which means 0 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. The stainless steel housing is very durable, strong and resistant to a wide range of chemicals with the exception of chloride solutions. The PTFE (polytetrafluoroethene or teflon) sealing, is resistant to almost all media. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Thanks to the ATEX and IECEx certification, this solenoid valve is suited for explosive environments. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected. The integrated power reduction feature reduces energy consumption by 75%. The valve is equipped with a “kick-and-drop” function, which provides a high inrush current to switch the valve and then reduces to a low holding current to keep the valve in position. This results in a significant reduction in power consumption.
