This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 120 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 13 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. However, the function can easily be changed between NC and NO by rotating the pilot valve on the top side by 180 degrees. Suitable for a pressure of 0.2 – 10 bar (3 – 145 psi) and a maximum temperature of 60 °C (140 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 4 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 67 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 5, which means 5 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The FKM (fluorine rubber or Viton) sealing has excellent chemical properties, is suited for most oils and solvents but it cannot handle hot water or steam. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The manual override feature can be used to commission the system. You can separately adjust the opening and closing time of the valve with set screws, for example to prevent water hammer. The valve’s design prevents water hammering. The valve is fat and oil free, meaning it won’t contaminate the media. Therefore, it’s suitable for laboratory use as well as oxygen. This valve is certified to comply with UL Listed standard. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
