This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 3/4 inch threads and a 48 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 20 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied. However, the function can easily be changed between NC and NO by rotating the pilot valve on the top side by 180 degrees. Suitable for a pressure of 0.2 – 16 bar (3 – 232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 6.5 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 108 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 8, which means 8 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The manual override feature can be used to commission the system. You can separately adjust the opening and closing time of the valve with set screws, for example to prevent water hammer. The valve’s design prevents water hammering. The valve is KTW-W270 certified for drinking water. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
