This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 3/4 inch threads and a 12 V DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 20 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure of 0.2 – 16 bar (3 – 232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 100 °C (212 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 8.5 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 142 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 10, which means 10 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible.
