This is a Burkert direct operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with 45×45 mm SFB flange and a 24 V AC/DC coil. Designed for proportional flow control through a PWM signal. The duty cycle of the signal determines the coil current, which directly correlates to the plunger position. Optionally, the valve can also be driven with DC voltage. The valve has a stainless steel housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 4 mm. SFB is a Burkert specific flange design that enables compact mounting of multiple valves on a manifold. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. As it is direct operating, no pressure differential over the valve is needed to open the valve. Suitable for a pressure of -1 – 7 bar (-15 – 102 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 0.45 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 8 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 1, which means 1 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. The stainless steel housing is very durable, strong and resistant to a wide range of chemicals with the exception of chloride solutions. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. The valve can be proportionally controlled by using a digital controller such as, for example, the Bürkert 8605 or 8611 types. Thanks to the ATEX and IECEx certification, this solenoid valve is suited for explosive environments. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

The Bürkert 2875 is a direct operated plunger solenoid valve and is primarily used for applications where flow rate control is necessary (proportional control). The valve works from 0 to 25 bar and has a 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch port size (BSP or NPT). The orifice sizes ranges from 2 to 9.5 mm. For smaller flow rates, types 2871 and 2873 provide a solution. The flow can be controlled using a digital controller (for example the Bürkert 8605 or 8611 types). Explosion-protected coils are optional. Please note that the correct sizing of the valve (Kv) is critical in flow control setups.
